Chalk Dinosaur
Chalk Dinosaur was founded in 2008 as the artist project of Pittsburgh music producer John O’Hallaron, and is known for it’s colorfully diverse and prolific songwriting. Over the years, Chalk Dinosaur has released 28 albums and EP’s, ranging from indie and surf rock to psychedelic rock, electronic dance music, funk, and jam. Some albums are instrumental and some are vocally centered. Some are solo recording projects, while others are collaborative albums featuring the full band.
Chalk Dinosaur (Pittsburgh, PA) as a performance entity is a live electronic duo featuring a fusion of dance, funk and psychedelic rock. Distinctive melodic themes coupled with a groove-focused rhythm section augmented with synthesizers and electronic textures, the live shows are characterized by high energy and emotional diversity.
The touring outfit is comprised of founder, producer & multi-instrumentalist John O’Hallaron, and drummer/co-writer Nick O’Hallaron.
Chalk Dinosaur also performs on special occasions as a four piece band, referred to as Chalk Dinosaur Ensemble, featuring the playing and composing contributions of guitarist Jon Henderson and bassist Michael Berger.
Nik Greeley and the Operators
Nik Greeley is known for being arguably the best frontman & performer in Philadelphia, and just in the last few years has established himself as one of the most entertaining & hard working musicians in the area, often being compared to the likes of James Brown, Joe Cocker, and Jim Morrison. Greeley released his solo debut EP Town Gypsy in Spring 2015, and has performed live sessions & received airplay on radio stations such as Radio 104.5, 88.5 WXPN, 93.3 WMMR, 93.7 WSTW and 95.9 WRAT. Greeley is also a member & singer in Philly funk band, Swift Technique, where he shares lead vocal duties with his female counter-part, Chelsea ViaCava. The Operators is a collective of some of the finest musicians in Philly and who all happen to be friends, too. It includes producer/drummer Joe Baldacci, bassist, Kenny Shumski, and members of prog-fusion juggernauts Out of The Beardspace, Zach LoPresti (Lead Guitar) & Sam Gutman (Keyboards) along with Gnarbot guitarist Zack Smith (Guitar).
